July is World Watercolor Month, an awareness campaign to support arts education.
Doodlewash blogger Charlie O’Shields of Kansas City, Missouri says World Watercolor Month promotes arts education through the Dreaming Zebra Foundation.
This nonprofit foundation provides art and music materials to children around the world.
Doodlewash says people can also show support for World Watercolor Month by:
purchasing pouches, shirts, mugs, and other items from its souvenir shop, and
making a direct donation to the Dreaming Zebra Foundation.
People can also support World Watercolor Month by participating in a 31-day watercolor challenge.
Doodlewash says, "anyone can join the celebration from master watercolorists to artists just starting out with watercolor! Simply tag any art that uses watercolors (or gouache) with #WorldWatercolorMonth during the month of July!"
People can post artworks everyday during the 31 days of July or only when they can. Each day has a theme.
Below are some of the artworks featured on#WorldWatercolorMonth.
