Should we hold on to our cash during the COVID-19 pandemic or invest it?
According to some financial experts, it may still be viable to make good investments during the coronavirus crisis.
Joey Roi Bondoc, a business journalist and Research Manager for a research and consultancy firm, said real estate remains a viable investment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In an article on Inquirer.net, Bondoc wrote that in his webinars, he presents a graph showing "Philippine economic growth criss-crossing average condominium price increase in Metro Manila."
He noted that the steady increase in condominium prices indicates that real estate is a stable investment compared to volatile options such as stocks.
Bondoc said condominiums are still an attractive investment option, adding that despite the economic slowdown, we believe that Filipinos will continue to consider property, particularly condominiums, as a viable option"
Meanwhile, Efren Ll. Cruz, a financial planner of RFP Philippines, said in an article also on Inquirer.net, "History has shown that man has survived market crash after market crash..."
Cruz also said, "While it can be argued that the crisis brought on by COVID-19 is different in that the enemy is not the greed from within investors and traders but a nondiscriminating virus from outside, history again shows that man eventually bounces back from major sicknesses..."
