Support WWF's eco-friendly 'Panda Gifts' project

Looking for Christmas gifts for family and friends? Check out Panda Gifts 2020 —a selection of eco-friendly items from the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines.

The 2020 catalog features items that "contribute to building back a better planet for everyone. A portion of the proceeds for each product will be donated to the organization’s conservation initiatives."

The catalog includes the following wearables:

  • statement shirts to help raise awareness on various environmental issues;

  • Endangered Stamps Collection tees exclusively designed in partnership with the Veterinary Student Achievers Society of the Philippines;

  • limited-edition shirt and mug by Miss Universe Philippines 2020, and

  • wildlife-inspired Bergel headwear.

Panda shirts with WWF's logo are available from P450 up.

The inspiration for WWF's logo is Chi-Chi, a giant panda living at the London Zoo in 1961, the same year that WWF was created.

According to the WWF website, the founders felt that Chi-Chi, "the big, furry animal with her appealing, black-patched eyes would make an excellent choice."

The logo design evolved over the years but Chi-Chi's distinctive features are still essential to WWF’s trademark, recognized as a universal symbol for the conservation movement.

Meanwhile, those who want to help reduce the use of unnecessary plastics can choose from the following Panda Gifts:

  • Aqua Carton and KeepCup products;

  • insulated tumblers from Corkcicle, Thermos, and Slique, and

  • Stasher bags.

In a news release, WWF said, "By supporting WWF-PH’s conservation efforts through Panda Gifts, you will also get to choose a set of WWF gift cards from Sticker Street as a token of our appreciation."
