UNESCO children's book on COVID-19 available in Filipino

The The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has released a book to help children with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UNESCO book for kids, entitled "My Hero is You: How Kids Can Fight COVID-19," is available in different languages including English and Filipino.


The different translations of the book can be found on the UNESCO website.

On Facebook, UNESCO said, "Kids need help and support to understand what the coronavirus is and the changes it has brought to their lives."


"A new story book that aims to help children understand and come to terms with COVID-19 has been produced by a collaboration of more than 50 organizations working in the humanitarian sector, including the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children’s Fund, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Save the Children," UNESCO said.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) in the Philippines said the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has reached 85,486 as of July 29.


A total of 26,996 patients have recovered while 1,962 people have died from the disease.
